3 months agoBest Korean restaurant around here, next to bts ekamai, the lunch deal is absolutely worth it. A lot of side dishes, refillable. The main dish was very good as well. Great service, nice staff, will come again.

5 months agoWe saw some Koreans eating here and so we followed. Wow… we were blown away by the banchans, so fresh, clean-tasting and distinct yet complementing each other so well. Mains were well executed too. They plied us with complimentary piping hot cabbage pancake (went super well with the cold mung bean jelly) and a bubbling steamed egg with a perfect fluffy texture. Meal ended with free cold watermelon slices and a bowl of hot rice puffs!! We all agreed that it was the best Korean meal we’ve had.

a week agoWhen Matty and I first arrived in Bangkok, one of the first things we went searching for was good Korean food. It’s easily one of my favorite cuisines. Give me a table full of panchan, fresh herbs, comforting stews, and bold flavors, and I’m happy. We stumbled across Daejanggeum here in Ekkamai for lunch and ordered from their lunch specials. I had the cabbage and beef stew, Matty ordered the bibimbap, and from that very first meal we knew we’d be back. Since then, we’ve probably eaten here five times and ordered takeout another three or four. That’s usually my test of a restaurant. Was the first visit great, or is the food consistently good? Daejanggeum has delivered every time. The stews, bibimbap, and japchae have all been delicious, the portions are generous, and the pricing feels very fair. We haven’t tried the barbecue yet because Matty is vegetarian at the moment, but it’s definitely on my list for the future. If you’re looking for authentic Korean food in Ekkamai, this is the spot. Simple, delicious, consistent, and one of our favorite neighborhood finds.

6 months agoThe food here is really clean and has an authentic Korean taste. Compared to other Korean restaurants, the prices are quite affordable, and since they recently renovated, the facilities are great and very comfortable.
