If you're coming here with the expectation of seeing Al Pacino hanging out sipping an Americano then you'll be sadly disappointed. What you will find is an efficient cafe turning out decent food. I mention decent because this place does not turn out exceptional food but it does turn it out consistent. Meaning no matter the day of the week you go you'll get the same consistency in the food no matter what. Some people enjoy that. I however, like variation - like a different photographer taking the same picture. There are subtle difference. And it's those differences that make a place interesting to return to. I'm a Flat White hunter. If it's available on the menu, then I order it. This particular one fell short. It had a more bitter taste than I used to and left a strange aftertaste upon each sip. And the temp was way off for me. It seemed like it was just above room temperature. The café is very conveniently located smack dab next to the Thonglor BTS station. It wasn't too busy when I arrived on a Friday morning around 9:00am. I received my order within about 5 minutes. If you're in the area it's worth a try.

If you’re looking for a spot that feels more like a friend’s living room than a sterile franchise, Goodfellas Thong Lo Cafe is a standout. Tucked directly under the Thong Lo BTS station (Exit 3), it’s a cozy, slightly moody sanctuary in one of Bangkok's busiest neighborhoods. Here is a breakdown of what to expect: The Vibe: Hipster-Cozy Goodfellas is a "cafe-meets-hostel" hybrid. It has a warm, vintage-industrial aesthetic with dark wood, leather sofas, and eclectic decor. It’s compact, which makes it feel intimate. Whether you’re dodging a sudden Bangkok downpour or waiting for a friend, the atmosphere is incredibly grounding. The Coffee & Menu Unlike many Thong Lo cafes that charge premium prices for the "aesthetic," Goodfellas remains surprisingly affordable. • The Coffee: Their Thai Espresso and Hot Lattes are consistently praised—rich, bold, and served with care. They also offer specialty filter options for the coffee nerds. • The Food: The menu focuses on "hearty and simple." • Breakfast Platter: A reliable, protein-heavy start to the day. • Pastries: Their croissants and carrot cake are crowd favorites. • Surprise Italian Influence: While it's a cafe, you'll often find Italian-inspired bites like sandwiches and even pasta/pizza options that are surprisingly authentic for a small shop. The Highlights • Prime Location: You literally cannot miss it if you’re at BTS Thong Lo. It’s the perfect "base camp" before exploring Sukhumvit 55. • Exceptional Staff: The team (often led by the owner, Shin) is famously friendly. It’s the kind of place where they remember your order if you visit twice. • Work-Friendly (Mostly): It has free Wi-Fi and a quiet enough atmosphere during the day for a quick laptop session, though it can get snug during peak hours. A Few Heads-Up • Cash is King: They generally don’t accept credit cards (though QR/PromptPay is usually fine), so keep some cash handy. • Opening Hours: They open early (great for a pre-work caffeine hit), but keep in mind it’s a hostel too, so the space can feel a bit lived-in.

A very nice and affordable stay for everyone wanting to discover Bangkok! The location right next to the BTS is very convenient. The neighborhood is nice, and we found great places to eat. Walking around feels safe. The staff is super friendly and very helpful (they gave us good recommendations and even a packed breakfast when we had to check out early). The room is very clean and had everything we needed. You can hear the street at night, but it didn’t bother us at all. The shared bathrooms are super clean, and we never had any interference with other guests - everything basically to ourselves. Would definitely recommend (and will come back)!
