  I’ve visited Hokkaido Yakidon Baan Kampu Asoke a couple of times and have been very satisfied each time. On my first visit, I ordered the katsudon set. The portion was seriously generous—a golden, crispy pork katsu simmered with egg and savory sauce, served over a bed of fluffy rice. Rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. The set came with miso soup, a fresh salad, kimchi, and nicely seasoned mushrooms, rounding out the meal perfectly. On my most recent visit, I tried the butadon set with half pork shoulder and half pork neck. The grilled pork was super tender, well seasoned, and tasted excellent—definitely a highlight and something I’d happily order again. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, though it can get quite busy during lunch hours. Located on the 2nd floor of Baan Kampu Asoke on Sukhumvit 21 / Asok Montri Road, it’s a convenient spot for a solid Japanese meal. Recommended.

  Revisited in August 2025 I’m not sure if they did some remodeling done on the outside of the shop, but now you can watch them grilling the pork from outside the shop. Great selling point(only if they could vent that smell to the street they would be drawing in everybody that walked by. Unfortunately the shop is inside of a building on the second , so I can’t really do that. Food was as good as it was the last time I visited. The staff and owner is very nice and great service. Original review February 2025 Having spent lots of time in Hokkaido, and eating these grilled pork don, I was craving one. When I saw this shop the other day, I marked it on Google maps. Then finally stopped by yesterday. Delicious! It’s not 100 % same, but in Bangkok I think it’s pretty good reproduction. I will come eat here again for sure. The store is so clean, it’s nice, but I miss the smokey and visual grills that you see at these restaurants in Japan. They have very nice dining room, but if you could see the grilling of the pork it would be fun too. This place is on the second floor, sort of hard to notice. I saw the sigh and pictures on the street and found the place.

  Strongly agree with the other comments here. It's exceptional value and the food was very good. The pork belly was nice and in the set menu, the other dishes were of excellent quality. This is definitely a go to restaurant for lunch or a simple dinner. Too bad the poor location makes it so few people come here.

  Insanely Overpriced and Overrated. Ordered the Half & half (Pork Belly + Loin) with tofu. Tofu isn’t quite nice with extreme saltiness. Pork was overcooked and overall (Main dish + tofu + onsen tamago + beverages + value added tax) = 355baht. Overpriced and overrated

  We’ve seen the rating and wanted to try. In the end we had 2 awesome menus for a very good price. We come back for sure.
