3 months agoWith gorgeous view of the streets, KK served some authentic Thai delights which I thoroughly enjoyed. The crispiness of the fried tiny prawns and and balanced pad thai was second to none. Our desserts were also refreshing. only problem here is that some dishes and desserts have run out! So their procurement needs to be looked that. Other than that, KK was a delight to dine in.

a month agoBangkok’s dazzling city vibes meet authentic flavors at Kub Kao Kub Pla, nestled on the third floor of Terminal 21 Asok. If you crave Thai comfort dishes with a modern twist — and a killer street view — this spot ticks every box for the ‘gram and your tastebuds! Signature dishes are the soul of this place, and you MUST dig into their stir-fried broccoli and mushrooms — fresh, vibrant and perfect for veggie lovers. The menu spans classic plates like Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup, Thai-style omelette, and more, all bursting with big flavors. Don’t miss their refreshing local drinks to complement your meal (I loved sipping alongside the sunny cityscape). The atmosphere is chic yet cozy, blending modern architecture with sunny windows overlooking Bangkok’s lively streets. A big highlight: the staff’s friendliness and attention to detail really elevate the experience. Quick service, beautiful plating, and quality ingredients make Kub Kao Kub Pla stand out as a go-to for both locals and visitors. Pro Tip: Request a window seat for the best city view! And if you’re after lighter fare, their veggie dishes are both delicious and photogenic.

5 months agoI dined at Kub Kao Kub Pla@Terminal 21 and overall had a very satisfying experience, with several standout dishes. The deep-fried chicken wings with sticky rice were decent, but honestly not as memorable—personally, I still prefer the version served at Greyhound Cafe, which has more punch in flavor. The highlight for me was the rice topped with beef red curry and scrambled egg. This dish was super delicious—rich, fragrant, and well-balanced. The spiciness felt slightly toned down, likely adjusted to suit foreigners, but it worked very well and didn’t compromise the taste. The caramelised pork knuckle stew with soft-boiled egg was also very good. The pork was tender and flavorful, though it leaned a bit on the sweet side. If the sweetness could be reduced by about 20%, it would be close to perfect. Lastly, the stir-fried Chinese broccoli (kailan) with crispy pork had a generous portion of crispy pork, which was a plus. However, I would have liked to see more vegetables to balance the dish better. Overall, this is a solid place for Thai comfort food in a convenient mall location. A few small tweaks could make the dishes even better, but I’d definitely return.

5 months agoKub Kao, Kub Pla is a Bangkok mall-staple that somehow dodges the mall feeling. The room is all soft greens and clean lines - hanging ferns like chandeliers, teal-framed glazing, pale wood and rattan - with just enough floor geometry to keep it brisk. The name, “with rice, with fish”, is the whole brief: everyday Thai baseline cooking, scaled up into a chain that gathers regional dishes into something recognisable and made for sharing. The table rhythm is ladle-and-pass. A crab curry with cha-plu turns rich coconut into something you keep eating, especially over violet butterfly-pea vermicelli. Crisp-edged seabass meets a sweet-sour fish sauce with chilli and pickled ginger. Pork arrives lacquered in a caramel-soy Maggi glaze, cut with cucumber and coriander. Even the coconut smoothie works like a timed release, starting as slush and loosening into pure coconut-water clarity.
Life Lessons
8 months agoToday I finally had a chance to try Kub-Kao Kub-Pla for lunch. I’ve heard so much about this place but it’s always packed with long queues. Luckily, I came right at 11:00 AM and got the very first table — the restaurant was still empty. 🍴 Food came out very quickly, in generous portions, and the taste was truly delicious, just as everyone says. Fresh ingredients, great quality, and definitely worth the price — it felt like enjoying home-cooked Thai food. 🥗 I was also impressed by the wide variety of vegetarian options, making it a great choice for groups with different preferences. ✅ Overall, I’m very satisfied and highly recommend this place. If you’re looking for authentic Thai cuisine with the comfort of a mother’s kitchen, you won’t be disappointed!
