a week agoA nice place with big crowd (on weekdays)! Been here a few times and overall it’s a good value for money place! Lots of items to choose from. The food we ordered ranged from good to excellent. The taste was a bit on the mild side, though. Price wise, very competitive. No wonder there was a long waiting line if you come for lunch on weekdays. Staff was also very accommodating. Never go wrong if you want something Japanese that is not over the top. A great place!

3 months agoIf you’re looking for a true hidden gem, this Japanese restaurant is the one I would pick over any flashy, overpriced spot in the mall. It may not have the glamorous storefront or luxury branding, but what it delivers on the plate is far more impressive — authentic flavors, great quality ingredients, and prices that actually make sense. This place is always packed during peak hours, which already says a lot. You’ll see locals, office workers, and regulars filling every table. It’s the kind of restaurant where people clearly come back again and again. If you plan to visit during lunch or dinner rush, expect a short wait — but trust me, it’s worth it. The grilled fish is one of my absolute favorites. Perfectly cooked with crispy skin and juicy, tender meat inside. You can taste the freshness in every bite. It’s seasoned just right — simple, clean, and balanced, exactly how proper Japanese grilled fish should be. Pair it with rice and miso soup and it instantly feels comforting and satisfying. The tempura is another highlight. Light, crispy batter that’s not oily at all, coating fresh seafood and vegetables. Each piece comes out golden and airy, with that delicate crunch when you bite into it. Dipped into the tentsuyu sauce, it’s honestly hard to stop eating. What I love most is that despite the consistent crowd, the quality never drops. The food comes out fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. It feels like a neighborhood secret — the kind of place you almost don’t want to tell too many people about. If you value quality over hype, this is the Japanese restaurant to go to. I’d happily choose this cozy hidden gem any day over an expensive mall restaurant.

8 months agoIf you are searching for an authentic Japanese dining experience in the heart of Sathorn, The Japan Restaurant is a hidden gem worth discovering 🍱✨. Located on the first floor of Sathorn Thani 2 Building 🏢, the restaurant feels like a secret corner of Japan 🇯🇵 tucked inside Bangkok’s busy financial district 🌆. The atmosphere is simple and warm 🏮, designed to feel more like a true Japanese eatery than a modern fusion spot 🍜. Walking in, you are greeted by the smell of freshly grilled dishes 🍢 and the sound of lively conversations 🗣️. The menu is extensive 📖, covering everything from sushi 🍣, sashimi 🐟, bento boxes 🍱, tempura 🍤, and hearty rice bowls 🍚. One of the highlights is their Sashimi Special 🐠, where the fish slices are thick, fresh, and generously portioned 😍. The quality of the seafood is impressive 🌊, almost like dining in Japan itself 🗾. Another favorite is the Tempura Set 🍤—crispy yet light, paired with fluffy Japanese rice 🍚. For lunch, their bento sets 🍱 are both satisfying and affordable 💵, a top choice for office workers 👔 nearby. Unlike many other Japanese restaurants in Bangkok, the pricing here feels fair 👍 for the quality you receive ⭐. The staff are attentive and polite 🙏, always ready to recommend dishes if you are unsure 🤔. They also serve unlimited refillable hot green tea 🍵, which adds extra comfort 🌿. Service is quick ⏱️ during both lunch and dinner 🍽️, though the restaurant can get crowded at noon 🕛. If you plan to visit at lunchtime ⏰, it’s smart to arrive early ⏳ or be ready to wait patiently 🪑. The vibe is casual and unpretentious 😊, perfect for both solo diners 🧑🍳 and groups of friends 👯. It doesn’t try to be overly fancy 💎—it simply delivers authentic Japanese flavors 🎌. This is why many Japanese locals 🇯🇵 in Bangkok choose it as their go-to spot 🍽️. The Japan Restaurant is not a trendy Instagram café 📸, but rather a reliable classic 🏮. It’s the kind of restaurant you’ll return to again and again 🔄, because consistency and comfort matter ❤️. For anyone craving real Japanese food in Bangkok 🌟, The Japan Sathorn is absolutely worth a visit 🚶🍣🍱.

6 months agoThis is a famous Japanese restaurant in the area, and due to its prime location for working persons, expect a very long queue during lunchtime. You'll need to arrive very early to beat the rush. Fortunately, the queue moves quite fast, and once seated, the service is quick. The taste and price point are reasonable for the location, though the flavor didn't offer any major surprises. A nice touch is the free refillable tea.
