Lumphini Park is a wonderful place to escape the busy streets of Bangkok and enjoy some peace and nature. It's perfect for a relaxing walk, with beautiful paths around the lake, plenty of shaded areas, and lots of benches where you can sit and unwind. One of the highlights is the wildlife—you can spot monitor lizards, turtles, birds, and other animals as you explore the park, making the visit even more enjoyable. Whether you're looking to go for a walk, relax by the lake, or simply take a break from the city's hustle and bustle, Lumphini Park is definitely worth visiting. It's a peaceful oasis in the heart of Bangkok.

Marvellous park with lots of attractions. Great for people watching and listening to the musical performances. A feast for the senses. Lumphini Park is highly regarded as the "green lung" of Bangkok, consistently praised in reviews for being a peaceful oasis that offers a rare escape from the city's urban chaos. Visitors love its unique wildlife, particularly the large water monitor lizards, and the variety of free recreational activities available. Hihglights Wildlife Observation: A major draw for many is the resident population of Asian water monitor lizards, which can often be seen sunbathing or swimming in the canals. While harmless if left alone, they are a highlight for photographers and nature enthusiasts. Recreation & Exercise: The park features a popular 2.5km paved loop used extensively by joggers and walkers. Reviewers frequently mention the free-to-use outdoor gym equipment and organized aerobics classes that take place in the late afternoon. Lake Activities: Visitors can rent swan-shaped paddle boats to explore the central artificial lake. Many recent reviews note that these are sometimes available for free or for a very low fee (approx. 40 Baht for 30 minutes). Local Vibe: Early mornings are praised for sightings of locals practicing Tai Chi and yoga, providing a glimpse into authentic Bangkok community life.

Lumphini Park was a lovely place to spend some time. It feels spacious and easy to relax in, especially with all the shaded benches around. Watching the giant monitor lizards was definitely the most memorable part for me, and it added a weirdly fun twist to the visit. If that’s not your thing, the pedal boats are a nice calmer option.

An incredible, massive green oasis right in the middle of Bangkok's CBD! This park truly has something for everyone, whether you want to walk, run, or even join a dancing group. It is also teeming with wildlife—the famous water monitor lizards and lots of friendly stray cats. There are so many activities to do, and the best part is they even offer free paddle boat and canoe rentals. A must-visit escape from the bustling city!

All big cities need lungs, especially Bangkok because it is so built up and congested. This park is a perfect example. There is an army of workers maintaining the park, and it shows. In a country where so many places aren't maintained, this is an exception. It's a lovely place just to walk or ride a bicycle. The last time I visited was probably a couple of decades ago and in the past I have seen people doing Tai Chi. The population of resident water monitors is well known, however, the traditional name that I use for them is very offensive. There are also a lot of cats. They are very used to humans and thus very friendly. Lots of Thais bring food for the cats as an act or merit making, therefore, they don't go hungry. If you walk along nearby Silom Road, all you can hear is the incessant roar of traffic, and all the concrete makes it feel very oppressive. As you enter the park it feels like another world, although it is only a few hundred yards away.
