a month ago✨ This cozy spot is absolutely perfect for a relaxed chat or a romantic date night! 🥂✨ The staff provided incredible, genuinely sincere recommendations that made our evening. We started with the rich and flavorful chicken liver pâté—a total must-order! 🥖—alongside a wonderfully refreshing tomato and cheese dish, plus fragrant steamed mussels in white wine and crispy fried calamari. 🐚🦑 For mains, the herb-stuffed rolled pork roast arrived piping hot with an insanely crispy skin that you need to eat right away, paired with an authentic, rich guanciale carbonara cooked to a perfect al dente. 🐖🍝 We finished this amazing meal with a truly authentic tiramisu and a bold, bitter hot latte. ☕️🍰 recommended! 🌟

5 months agoVisited for Sunday dinner. The meal started strong with their burrata salad featuring exceptionally fresh, sweet tomatoes that elevated the creamy cheese - simple but done right. The porchetta (550 THB) was the evening’s star, arriving with crackling-crisp skin and tender meat, served with an unexpected apple sauce that cut through the richness nicely. The Mazara del Vallo red prawn risotto (1,590 THB) showed proper technique with al dente rice and a balanced, not overly heavy sauce that let the prawn flavor shine through. Paolo’s Mother Tiramisu (350 THB) kept things light rather than heavy - a refreshing take on the classic that won’t leave you overstuffed. Service was attentive for our party of two, and the Sunday dinner atmosphere felt relaxed without being rushed. At around 2,000 baht for two with this quality, it’s fair value for well-executed Italian standards.

a month agoOutstanding Italian food and one of the most authentic dining experiences I’ve had in Bangkok. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, with a rustic trattoria feel that makes you forget you’re in the middle of the city. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the ingredients tasted fresh and high quality, and the flavours were rich without being overly heavy. Service was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the night. Great wine selection and cocktails as well. Definitely worth booking in advance — easy to see why this place is so highly rated.

a month agoI've been coming to Appia for years. It's a restaurant I've recommended often and always genuinely look forward to returning to. It was our first night in Bangkok We originally had a reservation for the following evening, and our hotel concierge called at 6pm to see if we could move our reservation. We were told that the only available seating was at 9pm, and that the kitchen closed at 10pm, and we happily accepted. Having been told that 9pm was the only available seating, I had imagined we would be walking into a full house. Dining in an empty restaurant wasn’t quite what we were expecting on our first night in Bangkok! Food-wise, the porchetta was excellent, as always. Unfortunately, the agnoletti with oxtail was a major disappointment. At first, I was shocked to be served what looked like plain boiled agnolotti. The pasta dough was so thick and the oxtail filling lacked any flavour. This is a dish that should be rich, comforting and full of character; instead, it fell completely flat. The dish was removed from the bill after we sent it back. This visit was simply not representative of the Appia we have enjoyed for so many years.

4 months agoWe came as we saw you on the Saint Chris program & wanted to meet you but unfortunately Paolo left the building when we came down from the private room. Food was v hearty as expected and felt home cooked Love the beetroot salad, baked mozzarella cheese & chicken pate v good too Duck Ragu, pork loin, ravioli & truffle pasta all v yummy & home style Tiramisu was the stealer of the night... Keep your mum's recipe forever! Canoli could improve tho. Padre Aglianico 2014 wine was great & still show fresh dark cassis fruits. But please train girl waitress how to decant wine as she poured all the sediment out. But the other guy staff came to the rescue. Overall v lovely food experience. Will try peppina next. 🙏
