2 months agoOne of my favorite places in the area. Hokkaido Genshiyaki offers impressive quality for the price. The fish is undeniably fresh, and their grilled options are particularly well-priced. With an extensive menu, there’s plenty to choose from for any seafood lover. The only real drawback is the expensive parking at both the Yada and Thaniya buildings. Since the BTS is very close, taking the train is definitely the smarter move.

7 months agoI visited this restaurant on Thaniya Road (Silom) for the second time. My first visit was quite casual and I didn’t think much of it, but after hearing so many people talk about the place, I decided to come back and I’m glad I did. This time I came specifically to try the Japanese-style carbonara spaghetti, which turned out beautifully balanced: creamy and flavorful without being heavy, with a subtle Japanese twist that makes it very easy to enjoy. I also ordered the grilled hokke fish, which was nicely done firm and juicy on the inside, with a lightly crispy skin and seasoning that wasn’t overly salty. The rest of the dishes were sushi and a Japanese salad, both fresh and clean-tasting, highlighting the simple but thoughtful flavors you’d expect from a good Japanese restaurant. We came as two people, and everything was just right portion-wise satisfying without feeling too much. The atmosphere here feels distinctly Japanese, and there are quite a lot of Japanese customers dining, which adds to the authentic vibe. Service is polite and efficient, and the prices are reasonable for the quality you get. Overall, if you’re around the Thaniya–Silom area and looking for a Japanese restaurant with tasty dishes, a comfortable atmosphere, and that familiar Japanese feel, this is definitely a place worth returning to.

a year agoNice cozy and relaxing restaurant.Such an amazing and fresh japanese food.Biggest salmon roll I have ever had.The oysters offers as fresh or grill, we tried the grilled one,super fresh and big one. Usually I am not a grilled fish fan but this place makes it really good.How they grilled it is very unique.To be honest I really enjoyed the place.Good food with cold beer.Perfect combination!Forgot the time until the waitress told us its closing time they had to close.

a year agoThe Hokkaido-style izakaya that make you feel in Japan! Genshiyaki Silom is definitely a hidden gem for those seeking an authentic Japanese izakaya in Bangkok. You'll love their traditional vibes, especially their Genshiyaki method, a primitive way of grilling that has been inherited from the ancient times 😎 The quality and the freshness of the seafood are outstanding also acceptable price. Highly recommended! 😋

a year agoAmazing food and atmosphere! I really enjoy the choice of music that matched with the food here. You can find a lot of Japanese comfort food here and the menu is very diverse and full of options for customers of all age!
