Just random browsing on google map and saw this kinda good review local thai food restaurant. First I walked in I can feel the air circulating is bad, you can fell hot and stuffy, only fan no air conditioning. I ordered tomyum prawns and holy basil pork with fried egg. I find the tomyum only tastes acidic and it lag of umami, it was something missing. The basil pork rice was so so, don’t have basil taste because only few pieces basil leaves they give. Everything was off, and I sweat a lot while I eating. I don’t mind if the food was good.

I did not expect to find such a cheap Thai food restaurant located right at one of the most expensive parts of Sukhumvit road. It’s very convenient to eat here before going out. The restaurant is without AC, so be prepared to sweat. The toilets are not the most welcoming and there is no soap. The portions were quite small but still authentic and tasty. The service is pretty fast, even when it’s busy. You get small paper cards to each dish with the price on it and you pay at the counter before exiting.

I ordered pad thai. Unfortunately, it wasn't shaved ice beer, but iced beer. Was it because of the power outage? The three Americans behind me were so funny. Still, thanks to the Americans' six eyes and three mouths, I could leave my luggage behind and use the restroom without any worries. The staff spoke English very well. The owner's son was helping his parents, and if this restaurant ever gets a Bib Gourmand, he'll be driving a supercar. The best thing about this restaurant is that they offer price lists for foreigners. And if they pair this with iced beer, I think it'll become very popular. The menu is extensive, and the famous Hainanese chicken place right next door almost got me thinking about going there at first.

Jarunee, conveniently is located beside Phrom Phong BTS station. Initially, I thought it was just another street food stall, but the clean and spacious restaurant behind the stall was inviting. The pork leg on display looked irresistible, and I'm so glad I gave it a try. At 120 baht per portion (good for two with 2 bowls of rice), it's a steal! The pork leg was INSANELY GOOD – soft, juicy, and infused with soy sauce to perfection. Every inch of the leg was flavorful.

I've been here twice and the food was good both times with local prices. But the second time a plate of laab "magically" came to my table. They also messed up the order for the Chinese couple sitting next to me. Oh well... I like laab...
