4 months agoSomyong Tum Sua, tucked away in a small alley off Sukhumvit 21, is a lively spot known for proper Northeastern Thai food. I went for one of my favorite combos - grilled chicken and som tam. And this place really delivered. The chicken was nicely grilled—juicy inside with a bit of smoky char—while the som tam came in a huge portion, packed with that punchy balance of lime, fish sauce, and chili that makes Isaan food so addictive. Casual, energetic atmosphere with plenty of locals dropping in, which says a lot. A great place to stop by if you’re around Asok and craving something spicy, fresh, and full of flavor.

9 months agoLovely hidden gem in an alley! The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. They even took out a fan just for me to sit outside. Each meal was delicious and the prices were great.

2 years agoWe knew the food already from home delivery and wanted to check the restaurant by itself. Delicious with a capital D was the outcome. The somtam, spicy papaya salad, huge portion was sublime. The sun-dried pork tremendous, so where the Tom Yum chicken and the vegetables in Soya sauce. That together with sticky rice and idem dito noodles made it a grandiose diner. We paid only 435 Baht inclusive 2 drinks. Highly recommended

8 months agoVery disappointing experience. We felt openly discriminated against as foreigners. No greeting or acknowledgment when we walked in; we were completely ignored. We asked for ice for our drinks and were told there was none available. Yet shortly after, the Thai table next to us received a full bucket of ice. We ordered four simple dishes. The first dish arrived after about 15 minutes, the second another 10–15 minutes later. As soon as those two dishes were served, I noticed the Thai customers beside us (who had arrived after us) were already receiving all their food plus the bucket of ice they requested. At that point it became crystal clear we were being treated differently because we are foreigners. I immediately cancelled the two remaining dishes, paid for what we had received, and left. If you’re not Thai, do not waste your time or money here. Strong recommendation to avoid this restaurant. Big love, Balake and Allegar
