4 months agoOverall, a visit to Roast restaurant leaves a positive impression, though a few details keep it from being a fully polished dining experience. Starting with the positives: the waitstaff were consistently polite and attentive throughout the visit. The tea selection deserves a special mention: whole-leaf tea served in a glass pot with a stainless steel filter was a thoughtful and elegant touch that elevated the experience. The meatballs had a remarkably smooth and almost creamy texture, clearly a dish crafted with care. However, the seasoning was noticeably heavy on spice, which may not suit all palates. The two slices of sourdough toast served alongside were unfortunately too firm to bite through comfortably, detracting from what could have been a well-rounded plate. One point worth flagging for those who appreciate transparency: the complimentary spread served at the start of the meal, presented in the style of butter, was in fact margarine. Guests who have dietary preferences or simply expect what is implied may want to clarify this with the staff beforehand. A minor but notable service misstep also occurred during the meal: a plate with remaining food was cleared while the guest was still eating from it. This is something the team may wish to be more mindful of going forward. Despite these observations, Roast shows genuine potential. The quality and intention behind the food is evident, and the warm hospitality goes a long way. A return visit to explore more of the menu is certainly on the cards.
