  I don’t say this lightly: this might be one of the best Italian meals I’ve had anywhere in the world. Tucked away in Bangkok, The Bar Italian Thonglor is the kind of place you almost want to keep a secret—but it deserves a line out the door. Every detail hit. The rosé pasta? Silky, rich, dangerously addictive. The Margherita pizza? Perfectly blistered crust, balanced, and deeply satisfying in that “how is something this simple this good?” kind of way. And the New Zealand steak—beautifully cooked, tender, and full of flavor. Even the bread and butter at the start (you know, the part most places phone in?) was exceptional. But what really elevated the night was the service—warm, attentive, genuinely thoughtful without ever being overbearing. The space is intimate, cozy, and quietly charming… which honestly made it feel like we’d stumbled onto something special. I walked out thinking: why isn’t this place packed wall-to-wall? If you love Italian food—real Italian food—go. Just go.

  Very comfy and good experienced place! Italian style with Japanese chef. So the fusion of food becomes very delicious !! Also you can sit in private room without charge! But my wife and I sat on bar to feel experience of chef cooking infront like Omakase! The price is friendly and the service is Top. We had a wonderful experience here on pre valentine!! Also they noticed my wife came with flowers so they asked on which occasion we are, then they surprised us with this dessert !!! Very pleasure!!

  Impeccable service, insane pizza honestly one of the best we’ve had in a longtime. Japanese Italian places always hit the spot but this one really took it to the next level. We also came on a Sunday night so it was completely empty and so lovely. The free square bread is also sooooo good

  Very nice discovery, the pizza are excellent, made in wood oven, dough is also hand made and ingredients are top quality. Colds cuts and cheese plates are also delicious and made with high quality product. We didn't try the pasta but they look at least delicious and hence you can see the cooking process if you eat at the counter, I can tell, they are cooked to perfection and aldente. Really recommend this place

  I’ve been a regular customer since the original branch on Sukhumvit 33. Compared to the old days, I feel the taste has declined a bit. The pizza and pasta used to be more impressive, but this time they were just average. The pizza dough was too fluffy, almost like eating bread, and the pasta was slightly overcooked. Some of the hams on the cold cut platter were too moist and soggy. The best item was actually the cube-shaped bread served at the beginning. The liver pâté with crispy caramel, included on the cold cut platter, was also excellent. They offer a good selection of reasonably priced outlet wines. The private room is a bit cramped, but it has a nice, cozy atmosphere.
