This cozy Japanese restaurant in トンロー really knows how to create a unique atmosphere! The cheerful staff made me feel right at home, which added to the overall experience. The menu's highlight for me was definitely the soup pasta—it's flavorful and comforting, perfect for a night out. It feels like a mix between an Izakaya and a special dining spot. If you're in the mood for something comforting yet delicious, this place is worth checking out. Perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends!

Rumba (Thonglor Soi 13) – Bringing Japan’s Soup Pasta Culture to Bangkok Located in the heart of Thonglor, Rumba is a unique Japanese-style soup pasta restaurant and the sister brand of the popular soup curry shop, Tonkoro Yokocho. What makes Rumba special is its dedication to the noodles. They are cooked with roasted kombu (kelp), allowing rich umami flavors to penetrate the pasta itself, creating a chewy texture that perfectly complements the flavorful soup. One of the highlights is “Rumba de Zetsubou”, a rich and indulgent soup pasta packed with garlic, cream, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Another favorite is the spicy “Passionate Arrabbiata,” featuring a bold diavola sauce that delivers both heat and deep savory flavor. During the day, Rumba operates as Bangkok’s only dedicated soup pasta specialty restaurant. At night, it transforms into a casual Japanese-style bar serving craft beer, pizza, ajillo, and other affordable dishes. The signature soup pasta is available all day and makes a perfect meal or late-night comfort dish. If you’re looking for something different from traditional Italian pasta or Thai-style pasta, Rumba’s combination of umami-rich noodles and generous, flavorful soup is truly one of a kind. A hidden gem in Thonglor that will leave you wanting to finish every last drop.

A new experience in eating pasta! Different kinds of pasta are served in soups that actually enhace flavors and texture. Other than pastas. The place also has many other dishes which can be called Japanese-European fusion. Some distinctive Japanese touches are obvious and make the dishes very interesting. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. By the way, good beers are available. This is definitely a must-try place. Highly recommend.
